Remedial education is to identify( based on course instructional objectives and evidenced by poor performance on examination(s)), areas of weaknesses of material, and, once identified, to assist the student in overcoming those weaknesses and develop mastery of the material and to assist students to achieve expected competencies in core academic skills such as literacy and numeracy.
The objective of remedial teaching is to give additional help to pupils who, for one reason or another, have fallen behind the rest of the class in any of the subjects.
Remedial teaching helps pupils identify difficult learning areas and bridge the gaps in their learning progress by providing supplementary information throughout the course of study. Single level classes are arranged to better cater for the diverse needs of pupils.
